My upcoming DES 680 project is a Flash animation…but I am unfortunately no expert in Flash. In order to remedy this problem I’ve been watching this introductory video series from Adobe.tv: Flash in a Flash
I have an entire Flash learning book that I’ve read cover-to-cover, but when I’m learning new programs I really need to SEE the actions, so I find the videos much more helpful.

In addition to the random postings beginning to define this blog, salt+ginger will also become host to a compendium of research and projects for my Digital Design class at Pratt – DES 680. In the blogroll on the right sidebar, the blogs of the other students in my class are denoted by the class title.
Our first project will be to create a 10 second typographical animation in Flash about a specific neighborhood in NYC – I’m thinking about Greenwood Cemetery or Prospect Park.
